All 4 years of high school, I was the recipient of the Silver Eagle Award, which goes to students who maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher throughout the course of the year. Additionally, during the summer leading into my senior year, I was apart of a study abroad program in Costa Rica with Woodward. Woodward has prepared me for college and beyond. Their motto is one that I will live by everyday. Character, Excellence, Opportunity. At Howard University and beyond I will maintain the character that has been instilled in me since birth. The most important thing in every human is the importance of being a good person because that can go farther than you can imagine. Secondly, excellence. I will strive to be excellent in everything that I do. And lastly, opportunity. The opportunity to go to Woodward and Howard University are ones that I will never take for granted. Within Howard University I will take advantage of every opportunity because you never know what door one conversation can open.

Going to Woodward Academy was an experience I will never take for granted, but it makes me want a new experience. Howard being an HBCU and Woodward a very diverse school is what excites me the most about my next chapter. When choosing my school I weighed all the options and found that Howard was the best school for me. While majoring in business, I know that I will be exposed to many different things and people that will open countless doors for my future. I know that going to an HBCU is an experience like no other and I will thrive there. At Howard I will look to join the Finance and Investment Club, American Marketing Association, and School of Business Student Council. Another reason why I chose Howard was because of the location. D.C. is the home to so many opportunities that I cannot wait to dive in. To summarize, there were many factors in my choosing to go to the real HU, but most importantly was how i thought I would grow there. Going to one of the best business school in the nation will prepare me for whatever obstacles someone trys to throw at me next.
My time at Howard will be filled with a lot of fun but, most importantly, work. At Howard, I look to build lifelong connections with people and make experiences that will last forever. My time at Howard will be filled with a lot of fun but, most importantly, work. At Howard, I look to build lifelong connections with people and make experiences that will last forever. Some goals that I have for my time at Howard and beyond include Maintaining a 4.0 GPA every semester, making the School of Business Student Council and Dean List, landing my first internship after freshman year, and more. Beyond Howard I have always had the dream of owning my own business. The most important thing to me when deciding what you want to do for work is not necessarily what you are the best at, but what you love doing. I am not certain yet what that is that I love doing, but I know along the way I will find it.
